History stories
Forgotten events and people, told as a three-act story with a narrator.
Faceless Facebook
Facebook audiences love stories, history and “did you know” videos, and Meta now rewards original creators over pages that repost. Etchly makes narrated, illustrated videos from your own script, in vertical or landscape, for a few dollars each.
Each one is a repeatable format you can turn into a series, with a new idea in every episode.
Forgotten events and people, told as a three-act story with a narrator.
Surprising facts about places, words, food and everyday objects.
How things used to work: old jobs, old inventions, old towns.
Neighborhood history and trivia for local pages and groups.
Short narrated fables and stories with a takeaway at the end.
Money, health and home topics explained simply, without the jargon.
Meta's original content guidelines push down Reels that only react to, narrate or stitch existing clips. An Etchly video is built from your script, with illustrations generated for each scene and animated by our motion engine. There's no borrowed footage to explain.
Facebook viewers stay for a good story. The AI script writer structures each video with a hook, rising tension and a payoff, and you can rewrite any line in plain English before you produce it.

Stories, history, nostalgia and local topics are shared widely on Facebook.
Meta deprioritizes Reels that only narrate or stitch other people's clips. Start from your own story and research.
Post a 9:16 Reel and a 16:9 version of longer stories from the same project.
Batch a week of videos and schedule them from Meta Business Suite.
| Aspect ratio | 9:16 for Reels, or 16:9 for landscape videos |
|---|---|
| Length | 30–90 seconds for Reels. Longer stories work as landscape videos |
| Captions | Burned in, because most feed video autoplays muted |
| Audio | Narration and music mixed and loudness-normalized |
| Ready to post | Title, description and hashtags with every video |
Real Etchly credit costs for common posting schedules, next to what the same seconds of raw generative footage would cost.
| Posting schedule | Credits / month | Fits on | Etchly / month | Seedance 2.0 footage only |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 3 Reels a week (45 s) | ~273 | Pro + 2 credit packs | $69 | $246–$398 |
| 1 Reel a day (45 s) | ~630 | Studio + a 50-credit pack | $114 | $567–$918 |
| 1 story a week (3 min) | ~188 | Pro | $39 | $302–$490 |
Etchly credits assume every video is brand new: ideas, script and production with all-new illustrations. Reusing art across a series, or re-rendering, costs less. The Seedance column is footage only: one 1080p pass at typical third-party rates of $0.42–$0.68 per second (October 2026), with no script, voice, captions or rerolls. Prices change, so check the provider.
In July 2025 Meta said it would crack down on accounts that share unoriginal content on Facebook. A March 2026 update to its original content guidelines spells out what that means. Reels that only react, narrate or stitch existing clips without adding substance are likely to be deprioritized. Accounts that keep posting mostly unoriginal content can be made non-recommendable and lose monetization. Creators can appeal originality decisions.
Facebook's creator monetization programs and their eligibility change often and vary by country, so check Meta's current pages.

Yes, if the content is original. Meta's crackdown targets pages that repost or lightly edit other people's videos, not creators who don't appear on camera.
Both. Reels are easier to discover. Longer stories and explainers can work well as 16:9 videos, and Etchly makes either shape.
Usually not, by Meta's guidelines, unless you add real substance. Etchly avoids the problem: the visuals are made for your script.
A 45-second Reel with 12 new illustrations is about 21 credits, roughly $3.50–5.25. A 3-minute story with 30 illustrations is about 47 credits.
